Moadra Guides: Controls, Achievements & Steam Deck

Moadra Scanner Bot, Map & Hidden Paths

How Moadra’s scanner bot X-ray vision works, demo scan updates, map markers, 100% scan achievement, and what guides cannot spoil yet.

10/23/2026 Last updated: 10/23/2026 5 min read

Verified on 2026-10-23 against the Steam store page, Gloomsoft Steam news (demo 1.1.0 and the 21 Oct 2026 update), Steam player reviews, and Steam’s public global achievement statistics.

The scanner bot is Moadra’s exploration companion: official copy promises X-ray vision to scan enemies for weaknesses, scan objects, and reveal hidden passages and vents. It is not a separate minigame—you use it while platforming and fighting. The map (Tab in third-party demo notes) records where you have been and, according to player reviews, what still blocks you or waits to be collected. This guide does not list coordinates, specific breakable walls, or a region-by-region secret route—we have not verified those details from public sources yet.

What is the scanner bot?

Function Official vs reported Detail
Enemy scans Official — Steam Learn weaknesses and combat-relevant info
Object scans Official — Steam Interact with scannable world objects
Hidden routes Official — Steam Reveal hidden passages and vents
Lore readouts Player-reported — Steam reviews Some scans describe corpses or NPC data; not quoted on store page
Completion Official — achievements Servo Bot Ace — 100% Scan Progress (~0.7% global on 2026-10-23)

Media comparisons (not official mechanics): Rock Paper Shotgun’s 2025 demo piece likens scanning to Metroid Prime-style analysis; Steam Hype (22 Oct 2026) highlights Giger-esque visuals when the room shifts to an X-ray palette—useful tone, not a spec sheet.

Demo and pre-launch scan improvements (official)

Update Scan-related changes
Demo 1.1.0 (28 Apr 2025) Faster object scans; clearer highlight colors; removed low-impact scannable objects
Demo / pre-launch (21 Oct 2026 news) Scan logbook added to demo; localization and rebind controls in same update

How does the map work?

Player-reported behavior (one long 2026-10-22 Steam user review; not confirmed elsewhere):

  • Icons for gates you cannot pass yet—needing a specific ability, key, or item
  • Hidden passages you already discovered
  • Upgrades or Protoplasm nodes you saw but did not collect
  • Objectives list (visible on official screenshots—for example a rescue-style objective line)

Caveats:

  • The location name in the map header may stay tied to where you stand, not the room you are viewing—same single review; unverified elsewhere
  • Demo 1.0.1 warned that old saves could show wrong map icons after layout changes—official known issue for outdated demo saves

We deliberately do not annotate this screenshot with a secret checklist. Moadra Guide only publishes map and secret-route details once we can verify them from multiple independent sources. When that bar is met, updates will appear on collectibles and 100% or here—not guessed from video chapter titles.

Hidden paths: what a guide can and cannot claim yet

What we know at a high level

  • Hidden traversal exists (vents and passages) and is scanner-dependent per Steam copy
  • 100% Scan Progress is a formal achievement with a 0.7% global snapshot (2026-10-23)
  • Demo press (Rock Paper Shotgun) describes short-range teleporter doors you activate by shooting—demo-era media; we have not confirmed it is the same system as endgame “fast travel”

What we do not publish here (as of 2026-10-23)

  • Pixel coordinates, “break wall here” callouts, or room-by-room secret maps
  • A complete scannable object checklist for the full campaign
  • Verified fast travel rules—only a single Steam review describing non-traditional linked teleporters (~6 hours to unlock); unverified
  • Scan combat tricks one reviewer withheld as spoilers—not verified from any second source

If you are hunting Servo Bot Ace, pair scanning with the achievements guide and track lastModified on this page when patches add logbook exports or map filters.

Fast travel and backtracking (unverified detail)

Steam’s store pages do not explain fast travel in the copy we checked. One Steam user review describes:

  • Multiple fixed destinations per node, not open-world warp anywhere
  • No UI hint where a node sends you
  • Access many hours into the campaign

Label that entire block as one player’s report (2026-10-22) until Gloomsoft documents it or a second independent source matches. Plan for Metroidvania backtracking in the meantime; see reviews and reception for how critics frame pacing.

FAQ

What does the scanner bot do in Moadra?
Official Steam text describes a scanner bot with X-ray vision. You scan enemies to learn weaknesses, scan objects in the world, and reveal hidden passages and ventilation routes. Steam player reviews add lore-style readouts on some scans (for example last thoughts on remains). We treat those extras as player-reported unless copied verbatim on the store page.
How do you scan in Moadra on PC?
Third-party demo notes list scan on **F**; confirm your binding in Settings after patches. Demo updates improved controller aiming and lock-on separately. After the 21 Oct 2026 demo patch, rebinding is supported. See our controls guide for the full keyboard and gamepad table.
What changed for scanning in Demo 1.1.0?
Official demo patch notes (28 Apr 2025) say object scans complete faster, highlight colors are clearer, and low-value scannable clutter was removed. Gloomsoft’s 21 Oct 2026 post adds a scan logbook to the demo before launch. Full-release scan behavior should match unless a newer patch note says otherwise.
What is the 100% Scan Progress achievement?
Steam names it Servo Bot Ace: Obtain 100% Scan Progress. Global unlock was about 0.7% on 2026-10-23—a small post-launch sample. It pairs with completion goals on our collectibles page. We do not list every scannable entity here because no published source we could verify provides a full-game checklist yet.
How does the map show hidden paths and upgrades?
Steam player reviews report that the map highlights obstacles that need specific abilities, keys, or items; marks discovered hidden passages; and tracks upgrades or Protoplasm nodes you saw but did not pick up. One review notes the top bar always shows your current location name, which can make planning harder—player feedback, not official manual text.
Does Moadra have traditional fast travel?
One detailed Steam user review (2026-10-22) claims fast travel uses fixed links between nodes, does not tell you destinations, and unlocks many hours in—unverified beyond that single report. Steam news does not document fast travel. Treat backtracking as likely until multiple sources or official text confirm.
